Friday readiness review
- Confirm the staffing plan for every shift, including call-off escalation and overtime approval.
- Identify residents with recent change in condition, falls, new antibiotics, new wounds, high-risk behaviors, or pending diagnostics.
- Confirm needed medications, controlled-substance supply, enteral products, oxygen, wound supplies, and pharmacy delivery contingencies.
- Review pending admissions, discharges, transfers, appointments, transportation, and required paperwork.
- Confirm provider, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, hospice, dialysis, and emergency contact pathways.
- Review environmental work orders, life-safety concerns, weather risks, kitchen coverage, and emergency supplies.
- Assign ownership for unresolved issues and define when the administrator/DON must be contacted.
- Create a Monday follow-up list rather than relying on memory.
